The adjustable output voltage spans 0.5V to 5.5V, catering to core power demands of FPGAs, DSPs, microprocessors and ASICs.

    Equipped with Analog Devices proprietary Silent Switcher 2 architecture and integrated internal bypass capacitors, the IC greatly suppresses conducted and radiated electromagnetic interference, easing EMI compliance design without extra bulky filtering components. Switching frequency can be programmed between 400kHz and 3MHz via an external resistor, and external clock synchronization is supported to eliminate frequency crosstalk among multiple power supplies. High operating frequency enables adoption of miniature inductors and MLCC capacitors for compact power solution layout.

    The device supports PolyPhase multi-phase parallel operation with up to 12 devices working out-of-phase simultaneously. This function cuts input/output ripple current drastically, reduces required capacitance quantity and realizes high-current power delivery for high-performance processors. Differential remote output voltage sensing compensates PCB trace voltage drops precisely, securing tight regulation accuracy near the load terminals.

    Built-in programmable soft-start circuit eliminates power-on inrush current; output voltage tracking and power-good monitoring pin facilitate sequential power-up for multi-rail digital systems. The internal 0.5V feedback reference maintains ±1% precision across the full temperature range. Two operation modes are selectable: forced continuous conduction mode for low output ripple, and discontinuous mode for boosted light-load efficiency.

    Key power consumption data: typical active quiescent current is 2mA, while shutdown current is limited below 40μA for idle power conservation. Comprehensive protective circuits include cycle-by-cycle peak current limiting, short-circuit foldback protection, hysteretic thermal shutdown and undervoltage lockout, safeguarding the chip against overload, short-circuit and overheating faults under harsh operating conditions. Fast transient response characteristic stabilizes output voltage rapidly during drastic load current fluctuations.
