    Part Number Definition

ADAU1701 is a SigmaDSP audio digital signal processor integrating analog-to-digital converters and digital-to-analog converters. JSTZ represents 48-lead 7mm×7mm LQFP surface mount plastic package, delivered in tape-and-reel lead-free packaging for automated mass SMT assembly.

    Core Electrical Performance Parameters

This fully integrated single-chip audio system is built around a 50 MIPS 28/56-bit dual-precision audio DSP core, which adopts 56-bit double-precision arithmetic for nearly all audio calculations to retain exquisite details of low-volume audio signals and minimize digital distortion.

The chip integrates two channels of 24-bit sigma-delta ADC and four channels of 24-bit sigma-delta DAC. The stereo ADC delivers 100 dB signal-to-noise ratio with total harmonic distortion plus noise reaching -83 dB; the four-channel DAC achieves 104 dB signal-to-noise ratio and -90 dB THD+N, supporting sampling frequencies up to 192 kHz.

Dual power domain design is adopted: digital core operates at 1.8 V, while analog circuits and I/O interfaces run on 3.3 V supply voltage ranging from 2.97 V to 3.63 V. It embeds an internal PLL and crystal oscillator circuit, supporting multiple master clock multiplication ratios aligned with audio sampling rates.

Multiple communication interfaces are reserved: I2C and SPI buses are used for register configuration and program downloading; flexible serial audio ports support I2S, TDM and other mainstream digital audio formats for connecting external audio chips. Nine programmable GPIO pins and a 4-input auxiliary analog multiplexing ADC are provided to receive adjustment signals from potentiometers, encoders and infrared receivers for volume, tone and sound field control.

Users design customized audio processing workflows via the graphical SigmaStudio software, including parametric equalization, frequency crossover, bass enhancement, multi-band dynamic compression, time delay compensation, speaker linear correction and stereo sound field widening. The chip supports standalone operation by self-booting firmware and parameter sets stored in external serial EEPROM after power-on, and can save user adjustment parameters into nonvolatile memory before power failure for automatic recovery on restart. A safeload updating mechanism eliminates popping noise during real-time parameter modification.

    Packaging and Assembly Specifications

Housed in a 48-pin 7mm × 7mm LQFP compact surface mount package with standard pin layout, suitable for audio amplifier mainboards, sound bar modules and miniaturized audio equipment PCB layout. Moisture Sensitivity Level is MSL3, and all reflow soldering operations must be finished within 168 hours once the vacuum packaging is unsealed. Continuous tape reel feeding matches automatic pick-and-place equipment to realize uninterrupted large-scale electronic assembly production.

    Environmental and Compliance Standards

Commercial operating temperature range covers 0 °C to +70 °C, and industrial grade variants support -40 °C to +85 °C continuous operation. The component is manufactured with lead-free processes and complies with global RoHS environmental directives. High-level integration eliminates numerous peripheral audio processing discrete components, greatly simplifies active crossover, digital tone adjustment circuit design and shortens consumer audio product development cycles.
