MAX20051AUD/V+ is an AEC-Q100 automotive-grade synchronous buck high-brightness LED driver from Analog Devices (Maxim Integrated), suffix AUD/V+ stands for 14-TSSOP-EP exposed thermal pad tray packaging, dedicated to automotive exterior lighting with wide 4.5V–65V input and 2A continuous LED driving capacity.
👉 It differs from MAX20052/MAX20053 (2.1MHz high-frequency version) and MAX20050 with internal compensation. MAX20051 runs at fixed 400kHz and adopts external loop compensation, offering full flexibility for EMI optimization and complex multi-LED string matching, ideal for high-current automotive lamp systems facing harsh load-dump voltage surges.

- Wide Automotive High-Voltage Input Stage
- Operating input voltage: 4.5V ~ 65V, fully tolerates vehicle cold cranking, load dump and transient voltage spikes of 12V/24V automotive battery systems
- Integrated synchronous high/low side power MOSFET (typical Rds(on)=0.14Ω), peak continuous output current up to 2A for series LED strings (1~16 LEDs in series)

- Fixed 400kHz switching frequency, avoids AM radio band interference
- Built-in spread spectrum modulation (SSM) to suppress peak switching EMI radiation, reduce filter component volume
- External COMP compensation pin for customized loop bandwidth, adapts to different inductance/LED load combinations
- Complete Multi-Layer Fault Protection
- FLT global fault flag pin to notify host ECU of abnormal status
- Integrated protection mechanisms: LED open-circuit detection, output short-circuit lockout, cycle-by-cycle overcurrent limit, thermal shutdown auto-recovery
- Ultra-low shutdown leakage current (5μA typical) to minimize vehicle battery static drain when lamp is off
