AD5422 is a single-channel high precision digital-to-analog converter designed for industrial 4mA to 20mA current loop applications. BREZ denotes industrial temperature range and 16-lead narrow SOIC surface mount package. REEL means long lead-free tape reel packaging for continuous automated large-scale SMT production.

This DAC is optimized for process automation loop control systems, capable of configurable unipolar voltage output, bipolar voltage output and standard industrial 4–20mA current output without extra external driving circuits. The internal precision output drive circuitry can directly drive long-distance field loop wiring while resisting line impedance variations.

It is a 16-bit resolution DAC with guaranteed monotonic output across the full range, minimal differential and integral linearity error to ensure accurate analog adjustment for industrial actuators. An on-chip low drift bandgap voltage reference eliminates the requirement for external reference components.

Digital communication is realized via standard 3-wire SPI serial interface, compatible with common industrial microcontrollers and field control units. Integrated power-on reset circuit ensures safe output state after power recovery, avoiding abnormal actuator movement caused by uncertain digital values during startup.

Built-in comprehensive diagnostic and protection features include open-circuit detection for current loop wiring, short-circuit protection, over-temperature shutdown and fault flag output. The device supports wide single supply input ranging from 12V to 40V, matching conventional industrial DC bus power environments. Low output drift over time and temperature maintains long-term measurement and control accuracy for field devices.

Packaged in compact 16-pin narrow SOIC plastic surface mount housing, occupying small PCB area for compact industrial transmitter and control module circuit boards. Moisture Sensitivity Level is MSL3, all reflow soldering work must be completed within 168 hours once vacuum packaging is opened. Continuous tape reel feeding works perfectly with automatic placement equipment to support uninterrupted mass production of industrial electronic assemblies.

Operating temperature range covers -40°C to +125°C, performing steadily under wide temperature swings and strong electromagnetic interference inside factory workshops, outdoor pipeline monitoring stations and power facilities. Produced with lead-free semiconductor manufacturing technology, the component complies with global RoHS environmental regulations. High level of on-chip integration greatly reduces peripheral passive components and simplifies 4–20mA industrial current loop transmitter hardware design.
