FT234XD-R is a compact ultra-small form factor USB 2.0 Full-Speed to basic UART bridge IC developed by FTDI Chip, belonging to the FT-X series. It integrates internal oscillator, 2048-byte EEPROM and USB termination resistors, designed for space-constrained consumer and compact embedded devices that only require standard serial communication without advanced Bit-Bang functions of FT232RL.
👉 It is not the multi-function FT232RL with abundant CBUS pins and Bit-Bang IO expansion. FT234XD-R features tiny 3×3mm 12-pin WDFN packaging, fewer peripheral pins, lower power draw and simpler circuit design, perfect for mini dongles, wearable devices and compact serial adapters.
