This is a fully integrated loop-powered 16-bit single-channel digital-to-analog converter launched by Analog Devices, specially customized for industrial 4~20mA standard current loop signal output, widely applied to industrial smart transmitters and HART bus field instrumentation equipment.

AD5421 stands for the core model of loop-powered 4-20mA dedicated DAC series. BREZ represents 28-pin exposed pad TSSOP surface mount industrial grade packaging. REEL7 refers to standard tape-and-reel reel packaging for mass automatic SMT mounting production.

It adopts 16-bit high-resolution architecture with guaranteed monotonic output, maximum integral nonlinear error controlled within ±1LSB, ultra-low conversion error ensures long-term output current precision stability. The chip directly converts digital signals into standard 4mA~20mA loop current output, perfectly matching universal industrial analog transmission standards, and can work normally with HART FSK communication superimposed on current signals without performance attenuation.

Internal integrated adjustable linear power regulator, which can output stable 1.8V~12V voltage to supply power for the chip itself and peripheral MCU and auxiliary circuits; built-in 1.22V and 2.5V precision reference voltage sources, no external discrete reference components are required.

Communication adopts 3-wire SPI compatible serial interface, maximum clock frequency up to 30MHz, convenient connection with various embedded microcontrollers. Multiple fault detection functions are embedded inside: loop open circuit, overvoltage, overheating, SPI communication error will trigger fault pin alarm and record fault codes for system troubleshooting.

Analog power supply range 1.71V~5.5V, digital terminal working voltage matches 3.3V system standard; the chip features ultra-low power consumption design, adapting to the power-limited working mode of two-wire loop-powered instruments.

28-pin TSSOP exposed pad patch packaging is adopted, the bottom metal exposed pad optimizes heat dissipation efficiency during continuous operation, overall size is compact to save PCB layout space. The component is classified as MSL3 moisture sensitive grade, reflow soldering work must be finished within 168 hours after opening the original vacuum packaging. Standard reel packaging is supplied to cooperate with fully automatic placement equipment feeding.

Industrial wide temperature working range covers -40℃ ~ +105℃, capable of stable operation in factory workshops, outdoor pipeline monitoring and other environments with large temperature changes. The whole product is manufactured with lead-free technology and complies with global environmental material restriction specifications. Highly integrated functional modules greatly simplify peripheral circuit design and reduce the overall BOM cost of transmitters.
