AD5420 refers to single-channel 16-bit industrial current output DAC dedicated to 4~20mA loop transmission. AREZ stands for industrial grade specification with exposed pad 24-pin TSSOP surface mount package. REEL7 represents standard tape-and-reel packaging for automated SMT mass production assembly.

It is a fully integrated 16-bit monotonic digital-to-analog converter specially optimized for industrial current loop signal transmission. Three programmable output current ranges are available: 4mA~20mA, 0mA~20mA and 0mA~24mA overrange mode, perfectly matching mainstream industrial analog signal transmission standards and supporting HART signal superposition transmission.

The typical total unadjusted error is controlled within ±0.01% full scale, output temperature drift is only 3ppm/℃, long-term output precision remains stable without frequent calibration. An on-chip 5V precision bandgap reference is integrated, with maximum temperature drift no more than 10ppm/℃, eliminating the need for external discrete reference components.

The analog power supply input range covers 10.8V to 40V, and the digital interface power rail works at 2.7V~5.5V, compatible with all common embedded logic voltage levels. The settling time of current output is 40μs, featuring fast response speed for real-time regulation scenarios.

The chip adopts three-wire SPI serial communication interface, compatible with MICROWIRE and QSPI protocols, which greatly simplifies the peripheral isolation circuit design. Built-in power-on reset circuit ensures the chip starts up at a safe current state, and an asynchronous clear pin can quickly pull the output to the lower limit of the current range. It integrates open-circuit detection, compliance voltage abnormality and overheating fault alarm functions, and supports driving large inductive loads up to 1H with built-in loop open-circuit protection.

24-pin narrow-body TSSOP package with exposed thermal pad is adopted. The bottom metal pad enhances heat dissipation during continuous long-time operation and suppresses thermal drift caused by internal heating. The component is classified as MSL3 moisture sensitive grade, all reflow soldering operations must be completed within 168 hours after opening the original vacuum packaging. Continuous reel feeding packaging is configured to adapt to the feeding requirements of fully automatic placement equipment on production lines.

Industrial wide temperature operating range is -40℃ ~ +85℃, capable of stable operation in factory workshops, petrochemical pipelines, outdoor environmental monitoring stations and other environments with large temperature fluctuations. The whole product is manufactured by lead-free process and complies with global environmental material restriction specifications. Highly integrated internal structure greatly reduces the number of peripheral passive components, simplifies the hardware design of industrial analog output modules and effectively lowers overall BOM cost.
