STMicroelectronics officially rolled out its third round of price adjustments in 2026, taking effect on August 23. This adjustment covers industrial\u2011grade MCUs, automotive power devices and power management IC product lines, representing the largest cost increase in the past six months.<\/p>\n

According to official manufacturer notices, sustained high demand from industrial automation, new\u2011energy and automotive electronics sectors, coupled with rising costs for wafer manufacturing, raw materials and logistics, are major drivers behind this price movement. Channel feedback shows lead times for high\u2011performance industrial MCUs including STM32H and STM32F have stretched to 48\u201154 weeks. Certain automotive part numbers are under quota allocation, spot inventories from authorized distributors are being rapidly consumed, and spot market prices are climbing accordingly.<\/p>\n

For procurement teams, price growth is only part of the challenge, unpredictable lead times create bigger risks. Many equipment manufacturers are locking orders for the first half of 2027 in advance and evaluating compatible alternative components to offset quota constraints. Spot resources are concentrated on mainstream general\u2011purpose models, while niche customized parts are extremely hard to source. Industry analysts indicate ST will keep prioritizing capacity for automotive and high\u2011margin industrial orders in Q4.
